| English | Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a green disc edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter overall the brown head of a Native American chief in profile with black hair and details wearing a yellow war bonnet garnished black, below the inscription “NORTHUMERLAND” arcing above in yellow letters.
Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height consisting of a green shield charged with a gold fillet cross and in dexter chief a basketball, basketball hoop and football per decrescent, in sinister chief a scale, in dexter base three books closed fesswise in pale and another to sinister closed bendwise, in sinister base the heads of a boy and girl in profile issuing four arrows fesswise in pale all gold. Attached below the shield a gold scroll inscribed “IN OMNIA PARTUS” (Prepared for all things) in green letters. |
Origin/meaning
Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: The colors are identified with the school. The Native American warrior is the school mascot and reflects the honorable qualities of a people worthy of emulation by the cadets.
Shoulder Loop Insignia: Green and gold are the school colors. The symbols reflect the educational process of knowledge (books) through communication (faces with arrows) developing sportsmanship (sports equipment) in proper balance (scales). This process prepares the cadets for the challenges in school, community and country.
