Origin/meaning
The silver and red bars are taken from the arms of a branch of the De Beaujeu family, the gold and the blue chief in the other half are taken from the arms of the Le Rotier family.
The cogwheel is the badge of a former large military establishment which was established in the town. The sword and the cloak are the attributes of Saint Martin, patron saint of thelocal church.
The wavy bars in the lower half represent the Armançon river near the town and the vase recalls the pottery workshops in the Roman era in the town.
