History: Constituted as 12 Periodic Maintenance Squadron on 4 Jun 1952. Activated on 16 Jun 1952. Inactivated on 8 Jan 1958. Consolidated (16 Oct 1984) with the 12 Organizational Maintenance Squadron which was (constituted, and activated, on 27 Jun 1962; organized on 1 Jul 1962; discontinued, and inactivated, on 18 Jun 1966; activated on 1 May 1972). Unit retained designation of 12 Organizational Maintenance Squadron. Inactivated on 15 Dec 1991. Redesignated as 12 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron on 18 Nov 2016. Activated on 2 Jan 2017.
