Un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite. În câmp albastru, pe 3 coline verzi, se află un zid de cetate crenelat, cu două turnuri crenelate, de aur, întrerupt în mijloc de o turlă de biserică de culoare albă, cu poarta neagră, având gratiile argintii ridicate. Deasupra turnului din dreapta se află un soare de aur, figurat, iar deasupra celui din stânga, o semilună de argint, crescătoare, strălucind. Colina din mijloc mai înaltă este încărcată cu o efigie. Scutul este trimbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu 7 turnuri crenelate.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 30, 2007.

The church tower is the only medieval monument of the locality. The fortress means that the town had the status of a medieval city.

The sun symbolizes courage and dignity, and the moon, the moral purity of the locals.

The small roundel in base, representing the scene of the dragon's defeat by the knight Sfântu Gheorghe, rendered black on gold, refers to the name of the locality.

The mural crown with 7 crenellated towers means that the locality has the rank of municipality-county residence.
