History: Constituted as 459 Field Maintenance Squadron on 30 Dec 1954. Activated in the Reserve on 26 Jan 1955. Inactivated on 14 Apr 1959. Consolidated (22 Oct 1984) with the 459 Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, which was constituted on 5 Dec 1958. Activated in the Reserve on 14 Apr 1959. Discontinued, and inactivated, on 17 Jan 1963. Activated in the Reserve on 1 Jul 1976. Redesignated as 459 Maintenance Squadron on 1 Feb 1992.
