Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 13, 1980.

The upper half of the arms shows the local patron saint, St. John Baptist. The lower half shows a feather, officially a down feather of an eagle. The feather was the symbol of the local butcher's guild for many centuries.

The colourful bend symbolises the long local tradition of carrying poles wrapped in colourful carpets and/or flowers through the village on the name day of the patron saint, July 24.
