Official blazon

In von Gold und Grün geteiltem Schild oben und unten je eine liegende rot bewehrte schwarze Bärenpranke.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1904.

The local council applied in 1900 to be allowed to use its own coat of arms. However, there were no historical seals or images available. The State Archives thus proposed to use a simplified design from the arms of the Lords of Bollschweil, the last Lords of Oberyach. Their arms showed quartered; 1 and 4 divided green and gold; and 2 and 3 in gold two bear claws. In the arms of the village, the claws were combined with the divided shield.
