Escut caironat: d'argent, un taronger arrencat de sinople fruitat d'ataronjat. Per timbre, una corona mural de vila.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 15, 1984.

The arms show a fruited orange tree, the most outstanding resource of the town. The fields of Xerta, irrigated by the river Ebro, produce vegetables, forage and fruits, among them peaches, apricots, apples, pears and, especially, oranges, besides other citrus fruits as tangerines and lemons.
