Twee naast elkaar gepaatste schilden: rechts:, gevierendeeld, 1 en 4 van goud met vijf schelpen van sabel, kruisgewijze geplaatst, wat van der Noot is; 2 en 3 van sabel bezaaid met leliën van goud, wat Duras is; links, gevierendeeld 1 en 4 van goud met een dwarsbalk van azuur met een schuinkruis van keel over alles heen, wat Grimbergen d'Assche is; 2 en 3 van zilver met vijf ruiten van keel schuin boven elkander, wat Ophem is. Schildhouders: twee geluipaarde leeuwen van goud - de naast elkaar geplaatste schilden getopt met een kroon met drie fleurons, gescheiden door een groep van drie parels, opgesteld als volgt: 1 en 2.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 3, 1951.
The arms are based on the seal of the council of Wilsele and Putte from 1779, which shows the above arms, with St. Martin of Tours (the local patron saint) as a supporter behind the shields. The arms show the arms of two families, Van der Noot/Duras and Van Hamme/Ophem. The blazon describes the Van Hamme quarters as Grimbergen d'Assche, which was not correct.
In 1761 Honorine-Françoise Van Hamme, widow of Jozef-Louis van der Noot, Count of Duras, acquired the village of Wilsele. Her family remained Lords of Wilsele until 1799.
