Origin/meaning

The arms show the Paschal Lamb (Agnus Dei) bearing a banner charged with the cross and were taken from the arms of the former landlord of the region, a monastery named Himmelpforte (literally: Heaven's Gate).

Himmelpfortgrund is now part of the 9th municipal district, Alsergrund.
