WIEN-ERDBERG

State : Wien (Vienna)

Origin/meaning :
The red strawberry above two strawberry blossoms is a representation of a phonetic misunderstanding ("Erdberg" sounding very similar to "Erdbeere" - strawberry); in reality the name derives from a former set of fortifications with "Erdpurch" ("Soil" or "Ground Fortress") documented in 1192.Erdberg is part of the 3rd municipal district, Landstraße.
