Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1966.

The arms are derived from the Counts of Stolberg (see also Stolberg (Harz)), former rulers of the area, who showed a deer on their arms. The wheat ear symbolises the importance of agriculture and the oak leave the wooded areas.
