The arms are based on the only known seal of the village, known since 1747. The wheel probably is a canting symbol for the old name of the village, Wagenwegen (wagon-roads), as the village was on the main road from Homburg to Kusel.

Hupp already showed the arms in 1928 as a blue wheel in gold, which were arbitrarily chosen colours. The current colours are those of the Counts of Veldenz, to whom the village historically belonged.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 4, 1979.
