Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 15, 1926.

The arms are based on the oldest known seal of the village, dating from the 14th or 15^th century. The arms show the lion of the Duchy of Brabant with a red label. The meaning of the label is not certain, but it is the common symbol for a non-direct heir to the count, duke etc.
