Origin/meaning

The above arms are used since 1819.

The arms are those of the Lords von Kronberg, with the addition of a red cross. The family acquired the village in 1624 and ruled as vassals of the Prince-Bishops of Mainz, as the area was part of the State of Mainz. Prior to 1819 the seals of the city showed the bishop of Mainz.
