Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 20, 1991.

The wolf in the right half is a canting element. The left half shows a wall-anchor, a symbol for the historical tradition of masonry and construction in the village, as well as for the development of the municipality. The chief shows a letter W, the town's initial.

The first proposal showed a note key instead of the anchor, for the musical and singing tradition in the village.
