VUCHERENS

Canton : Vaud

Armoiries de Vucherens

Official blazon

De gueules à la chouette d'argent sur un mont à trois coupeaux de sinople.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in 1921.

The colours are the colours of Savoye. Historically, on special occasions, an owl was exhibited at Vucherens, for this bird, a symbol of wisdom and penetration, gave its name to the inhabitants of the village.

The three mountain peaks represent the three villages in the municipality: Vucherens-La Gatte, Le Closy and La Râpe.
