VOEREN

Province : Limburg
Additions : 1977 's-Gravenvoeren, Moelingen, Remersdaal, Sint-Martens-Voeren, Sint-Pieters-Voeren, Teuven

Wapen van Voeren/Coat of arms (crest) of Voeren

Official blazon

Gevierendeeld 1. en 4. in zilver een dubbelstaartige leeuw van keel, gekroond, geklauwd en getongd van goud 2. en 3. in sabel een leeuw van goud, geklauwd en getongd van keel.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 9, 1988.

The arms are those of the Brabant-Limburg, which were already used by 's-Gravenvoeren, but with the correct sequence and with the double-tailed lion of Limburg.

Most of the current municipality was historically part of the Duchies of Brabant and Limburg.
