  • Wapen: Skuinskruisings gevierendeel, rooi, silwer, blou en silwer, in die skildhoof 'n gaande aansiende goue leeu; regs 'n omgewende swart olifant met slurp omhoog en silwer tande; links 'n Witaasvoel met sy regterklou bo-op 'n Raffiapalmneut van natuurlike kleur; en in die skildvoet 'n silwer Raffiapalmboom, goud gevrug.
  • Helmteken: Uitkomend uit 'n silwer muurkroon, swart veerpluime van die Sakabula-voel, in die middel daarvan 'n enkele silwer veerpluim.

+ Dekklede: Blou en silwer.

  • Skildhouers: Regs 'n gewone soldaat van die Buff-Regiment (laat Negentiende Eeu) in uniform en volledig uitgerus, wat in sy regterhand 'n geweer vashou, en links 'n Zoeloekrygsman in volle oorlogsuitrusting wat in sy linkerhand 'n beesvelskild, natuurlik gekol van swart en wit, en 'n assegaai en knopkierie vashou, alles van natuurlike kleur.
  • Spesiale kompartement: Op 'n grasheuwel, drie gevalle blare, alles groen.
  • Wapenspreuk: UMLALAZI

  • Arms: Per saltire, Gules, Argent, Azure and Argent, in chief a lion passant gardant Or, dexter an elephant contourne Sable with trunk elevated and tusks Argent, sinister a Palmnut Vulture resting its dexter talons on a raffia Palm nut proper, and in base a Raffia Palm tree Argent, fructed Or.
  • Crest: Issuant from a mural crown Argent, plumes of the Sakabula Bird Sable, with a single plume in the centre, Argent. Mantling: Azure and Argent.
  • Supporters: Dexter, a private soldier of the Buff Regiment (late 19th Century) habited and fully accoutred holding in his dexter hand a rifle, proper, and sinister a Zulu warrior in full war attire holding in his sinister hand an oxhide shield pied at random, Sable and Argent, an assegai

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 20, 2004.

The arms have been based on the old arms of Eshowe in the municipality. I have no further information on these arms.
