Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 14, 1979.

The upper part shows the griffin taken from the arms of the Counts of Formbach, who ruled the area until 1158. The lower part shows the kettle, the symbol of St. Vitus (St. Veit), the patron saint of the village.
