Escudo de vermelho, dois lobos de prata, parados, animados de vermelho, o da dextra volvido, entre uma vieira de ouro em chefe, com a charneira para baixo e três espigas de trigo de ouro, em ponta, uma em pala e duas sobrepostas, passadas em aspa. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro em maiúsculas : “ TREMÊS “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 25, 2000.

The golden scallop is the symbol of the local patron saint, St. James the Elder.

The two wolves are a based on a legend of the name of the village. The name is derived from 'trembling' and it is said that wolves once ravaged the area and that the local villagers trembled with fear.

The wheat ears symbolise that wheat is the main crop in the parish.
