District : Bad Kissingen
Additions : 1978 Rothhausen, Theinfeld

Wappen von Thundorf in Unterfranken/Arms (crest) of Thundorf in Unterfranken
Official blazon
German Geteilt von Silber und Rot; oben ein wachsender doppelschwänziger, rot gekrönter und bewehrter schwarzer Löwe, unten eine silberne Pflugschar auf zwei schräg gekreuzten silbernen Reuthauen.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 17, 1979.

The lion is taken from the old arms of Rothhausen. The lower half shows some tools, two axes used to clear forest and a spade. The axes are a canting symbol for Rothhausen (the tools are Reuthauen), the spade symbolises the agricultural character of Theinfeld. The silver and red colours are those of the Franken region.
