The arms were granted on April 22, 1985.

The arms combine the attribute of St. Margaret, the dragon, with the arms of the Teufenbacher family, two bars. St. Margaret is the patron saint of Teufenbach. In her church, the noblemen of the Teufenbacher family are buried.
