TETTENS

State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Friesland
Additions : 1933 Middoge, Wiefels
Incorporated into : 1972 Wangerland

Wappen von Tettens/Arms (crest) of Tettens
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 3, 1949.

The eagle is taken from the arms of the medieval family Von Middoge, which played a large role in the local history. Their arms can be found in the church of Tettens. The base shows two blue bends which are a symbol for the low-lying position of the village where draining of the land is necessary.
