Wappen von Tettau (Oberfranken)/Arms (crest) of Tettau (Oberfranken)

The arms are not based on historical seals or arms of the town. The downward point is taken from the arms of the Von Thüna family, Lords of Lauenstein from 1506-1622. The castle in Tettau was built in 1535 by Friedrich von Thüna. The lower wavy bar represents the Tettau river. The vase in the arms is a symbol for the glass and porcelain industry in the town, which has been of importance for many centuries.
