The arms show in the upper half the symbols for agriculture (plough) and nature (antler), which are also symbolised by the green colour. The golden colour shows the sandy soils. The large stone (the Giebichenstein) in the base is a local natural monument and has probably been deposited here in the last Ice Age. Near the stone remnants of a prehistoric camp and workshop have been found.
