Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 5, 1967.

The arms show in the upper part the arms with the three eagles of Lorraine to which the village of Auersmacher historically belonged. The upper left quarter shows the silver pale of the arms of the family Von der Leyen, which ruled the village of Rilchingen-Hanweiler for a long time. The burning branch is a symbol for Sitterwald, which was founded in 1935 by clearing the forest between Rilchingen-Hanweiler and Auersmacher by fire. In 1957 it was made a separate municipality.
