Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 19, 2007.
The arms show elements for the three former municipalities. The miner's tools refer to the coal mining in Rießen, the wheat for the agricultural character of Pohlitz and the wheel to the watter mills in the Schlaube in Schernsdorf.
The base refers to the many waterways in the municipality.
