The shield on the right shows the previous arms, whereas the shield on the left shows the arms of the principality of Sachsen(-Wittenberg) at the time. Origin/meaning
The oldest arms from Schneeberg date from 1534 and show the miner's tools above three small mountains. The first symbolise mining, the second are the Mühlberg (green for its forests), Schneeberg (white, Schnee=snow) and Wolfsberg (blue for the many streams at its base).
