Origin/meaning

The chief symbolises the Sieg river in the municipality. The bend with the diamonds is taken from the arms of the Lords of Seelbach, who had possessions in the area (and who were related to the Lords of Alsdorf). The three wheat ears symbolise agriculture and the three former estates in the village. The tool in the lower half is a mining tool and symbolises the mining in the area since Roman times.
