SCHAFFHOUSE-PRÈS-SELTZ
Département : Bas-Rhin
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms refer to the patron saint of the village, St. Martin. He cut his cloak in two pieces to give half to a beggar. Hence the division of the shield (compare Utrecht in the Netherlands]]), and the sword. As he was bishop of Tours, the lower half shows a crosier. The colours are the colours of the Alsace region.
