Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on March 2, 1985.

The red colour is the colour of the patron saint, Saint Vitus. The sun refers to King Louis XIV (the 'Sun-King'), who once passed through the village. The lion is the lion of the Franche-Comté in different colours. The wheel refers to the fact that the village historically has been on a main road (hence the passage of the King).
