In Gold ein schrägrechter schwarzer Wellenbalken, begleitet oben von einem schwarzen Steuerrad, unten von einer schwarzen Pflugschar.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 16, 1960.

The arms show the Ems river, with a plough as a symbol for agriculture and a ship's steering wheel, as a symbol for shipping.
