Official blazon

Geteilt; oben rot, unten gespalten von Schwarz und Silber.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1813 and gain confirmed in 1950, but now in the original colours.

As there were no historical arms or seals known, it was decided in 1813 to use the arms of the Lords of Parsberg as arms for the city. To emphasise the ties to Bayern, the red upper part of the original arms was replaced by the Bavarian blue.
