Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1913.

The arms first appeared on the local seal and justice staff of the local council in the late 18th century. Its meaning or origin, however, is not known. The bend most likely is taken from the arms of Baden, the stars and crescent are unexplained. The arms also appear in the seal of the 19th century.

The colours were unknown and were proposed by the State Archives in 1904, but it took until 1913 until the proposal was accepted.
