The above arms were used from 1954 until around 1990. <br/>
The blue colour symbolised peace, red was the colour of the communist party, and black symbolized coal. Oroszlany is a mining town, coal fields were discovered in the 1930's, at that time Oroszlany was a little village. Black and red together symbolize how dangerous and hard it was to be a miner (coal and death = black. The red also symbolised the life of heroes).
