Origin/meaning

The oldest seal of the village is known since 1616. It shows the name Odenheim between leaves and branches. The second seal of the village, known from 1733-1806 shows the patron saint of the village, Archangel St. Michael. The 19th and 20th century seals also show the same composition.

In 1903 and 1907 the State Archives proposed the use of the saint as arms, but the municipality did not adopt any arms. Finally in 1950 the village decided to adopt the saint as its arms.
