Selected collector's items from Germany:

OBERTAUNUSKREIS (HG)

State : Hessen
Incorporated into : 1975 Hochtaunuskreis

Wappen von Obertaunuskreis / Arms of Obertaunuskreis
Official blazon
German Geteilt; oben in Blau ein wachsender, dreimal von Silber und Rot geteilter, golden bewehrter Löwe, unten in Silber drei Reihen blauen Eisenhutfehs

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 16, 1950.

The upper part shows the lion of Hessen, as most of the district belongs to Hessen since 1502. The lower part is taken from the arms of the Counts of Kronberg, who, until 1704, ruled a large part of the district.
