OBERKOCHEN

State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Ostalbkreis (until 1973 Aalen)

Wappen von Oberkochen/Arms (crest) of Oberkochen
Official blazon
German

In Blau drei (2:1) goldene Rosen.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1968 and are based on the arms of Görig von Kochen from 1404. He owned several estates in Oberkochen. The colours were chosen arbitrarily, as no historical colours were known.

From 1927-1968 the town used arms showing a beech tree flanked by two plough irons, and a chief with the deer antler of Württemberg.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
