History: Formed at Rochford in October 1917.
English | A pheonix sable (flames of the fire gules/Or holding in its beak a sword argent pomelled and hilted Or. Motto: Igni renatus |
Origin/meaning
The unit was reformed after disbandment following World War I. The Pheonix symbolises this rebirth with the sword being symbolic of readiness to attack. The Motto translates as Born again by fire”.
