Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 6, 1993.

Three of the quarters show parts of the arms of the three most influential noble families in Neuhaus and Schierschnitz. The first quarter shows the ibex of the Von Gottsmann family, the eagle the Von Walther family, and the bend in the fourth quarter the Von Dannberg family. The miner's tools in the third quarter show the importance of mining in the history of the area.
