NEHEIM
State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Arnsberg
Incorporated into : 1941 Neheim-Hüsten (1975 Arnsberg)
German | Unter silbernem Schildhaupt mit dem in einer goldenen Schüssel liegenden Haupt Johannes des Täufers auf Blau ein silberner goldbewehrter rechtsblickender Adler.
Origin/meaningThe arms were granted on January 8, 1912. The oldest seal of the town dates from 1262 and shows the bishop of Paderborn with scepter and book. The town at the time belonged to the State of Paderborn. A second seal shows a castle with on a plate the head of St. John Baptist. A third seal shows the head of the patron saint under the eagle of Arnsberg. This composition remained in use until 1912 when the head was placed in a chief.
