Geviert von Silber und Schwarz; aufgelegt ein gespaltener Mittelschild, darin vorne in Gold ein halber, rot bewehrter schwarzer Adler am Spalt, hinten fünfmal schräg geteilt von Rot und Silber.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 31, 1965.

The arms show the arms of the Margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach, who were Margraves of Nürnberg in the 14th century. The escutcheon shows the arms of the city of Nürnberg.
