Wappen von Munster (Örtze)

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1937 and reconfirmed in 1967.

The village was never of any importance until 1893, when a large army training centre was established. Ever since the military has been of great importance to the city. The city rank was granted in 1967. The arms are based on the legend of St. George and symbolise the military.
