Blason de Melrand/Arms (crest) of Melrand
Official blazon

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were designed in 1988.

The ermine field is taken from the arms of Bretagne, the historical region in which the village is situated. The chief shows a farmer, ploughing the soil. This refers to the cultivation of the forests for agriculture, which already happened a long time ago, as can be concluded from archaeological findings in the area. I have no information on the meaning of the statue.
