Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on November 18, 1991.
The chief consists of three elements; the tools taken from the arms of the Counts of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen, who ruled the area for many centuries. The pine tree symbolises the forests in the area, as well as the historical importance of making charcoal for the villagers. It's colour is silver, as especially in winter the forests attract many tourists. The R symbolises the Rennsteig hills close to which the village is situated. The main colour of gold symbolises the historical gold mining.
The base shows the lion of Thüringen.
