MAGNICOURT-SUR-CANCHE

Département : Pas-de-Calais

Blason de Magnicourt-sur-Canche/Arms (crest) of Magnicourt-sur-Canche
Official blazon
French
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were proposed in 1994, but I have no idea whether the local council actually adopted the arms.

The arms are derived from the arms of the Abbey of Étrun, which owned most of the village during many centuries. The abbey already used in the early 13th century a seal with a shield with St. Mary. The chief is a new addition, symbolising the Canche river.
