Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 7, 1955.

The town historically belonged to the State of Augsburg, and the right half shows the red and silver shield of the arms of Augsburg. The left half shows the star and crescent taken from the arms of the Lords of Heidenheim, who ruled the town from 1660-1789.
