Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on ??-??-19??.

The arms show a horse as horse breeding is typical for the area. The green colour symbolises nature, whereas the silver bend symbolises the Weser and Lune rivers that run though the municipality. The 21 nails symbolise the 21 villages and hamlets in the municipality.

Wappen von Loxstedt/Arms (crest) of Loxstedt

The arms show three nails and three rises. The nails are taken from the canting arms of the local noble family Nagel, who participated in the foundation of the church of Loxsted in 1371. The roses are the symbol of St. Mary, the patron saint of the church.
