Official blazon

Geteilt von Gold über Rot; oben zwei Rosen mit golden umkränzten Butzen, unten eine goldene Rose mit rot umkränzten Butzen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 2, 1999.

The three roses in the arms are taken from the arms of the Lords von Alvensleben. The roses symbolise the villages Hilgendorf, Loitsche and Ramstedt. The divided shield symbolises the former Roten Berg (red mountain) in the base.

In the 1980s the village adopted arms with the arms of the Von Alvensleben family (see below), but these were not officially granted. In the late 1990s the council wanted to adopt arms, but with chicory flowers instead of roses, as chicory cultivation has been of great importance for the area. These flowers, however, were not easily incorporated and the blue colour would be too different from the old arms. The elements of the old arms were thus retained.
